Evaluation Question 4

For the distribution of our movie trailer, we will be using the internet. This is advantageous to us, as the film is low-budget, meaning that we would not have the budget to advertise on such a broad scale as larger budget horror films. Thanks to the internet and the prevalance of video based websites, such as YouTube, we can have the benefit of free advertising while still letting the public watch out trailer. As of the moment, our trailer has approximately 150 views and 3 positive comments, which helps to show that the existance of Youtube is effective in distribution. Without such outlets, the whole process would have been much harder.

When my group was in the design stages for our trailer, we required an outlet that allowed us to post our design ideas to the public for confirmation. One such useful resource was Blogger, as it is a free and simple resource that masses can access and leave their personal comment on what they thought of it. This proved invaluable to our research during the planning stages.

While filming our trailer, the most obvious necessity was the equipment that we required. These being a camera that could record to tape and a tripod. We recorded on a mini camera, as it was more compact and lightweight. This meant that while it may not have had the recording qualities of a larger camera, it had better handling characteristics. The tripod was also a useful device which allowed for a more stable focus when required.

The editing software we used was Adobe Photoshop CS4, which was an incredibly easy resourse to use once we got used to it. The ease meant that the process of altering with the footage we had filmed was most likely much easier than other editing software.
